How many pets does your Pet Feeding service include?
We can feed as many pets as you need (within reason). Each pet feeding visit is up to half an hour long, and you can customise this time to suit you and your pet's needs. It of course involves feeding and providing companionship for your pets; but you may also require changing litter and brushing. We can also clear your mail, water plants, and do a security check of your home. The pet feeding service is better suited to cats and other small animals. Dogs are better suited to our Home Sitting or Home Boarding service.
How many pets does your Home Sitting service include?
Our house sitters can care for as many pets as you need to be looked after (within reason). Our house sitter will stay in your home and look after it and your pets just as you would, with their regular routines, until you return. Note that charges do vary based on the number of dogs within your home, as the Home Sitting services includes a daily half hour dog walk with them.
Who provides the pet food?
You provide the pet food for feeding your pets. If you are gone for a long period of time, you may prefer to leave some money for your Pet Angel to buy some fresh food for your pets, and they will leave the receipts with you as proof of payment.
Why are you more expensive than a kennel?
Because we provide your pets with personalized one-on-one pet care in their own home, or our Pet Angels' home, rather than in a cage or compound with other pets. This is much less stressful for your pet, and gives them the individual attention they deserve. For House Sitting it also means that someone is looking after your home while you're away.
Do you have emergency procedures in place?
Yes. All Pet Angels are taken through our emergency procedures during their training session with us. This includes what to do if a pet runs away and/or is lost, and what to do if a pet is injured or appears very sick.
If a pet runs away and/or is lost; the Pet Angel will spend the first 30minutes looking for the lost pet. If the pet is not found during that time, the Pet Angel will contact their client as well their local Pet Angels office, and from there we will contact the SPCA, the local Council, local vets and any other relevant organisations (such as Pets on the Net), while the search continues. Every situation is unique, so next steps after this would be determined on a case-by-case basis.
If a pet is injured or very sick, the Pet Angel will administer skills from their first aid training (if possible); will contact/go to the vet immediately; and will contact the client as well as their local Pet Angels office. It is important that you provide your Pet Angel with the details of who they should contact in an emergency, as well as your vet’s details. Please fill this information out on your online profile.

Pet Angel Applicant Questions

Is this a full time job?
No. All Pet Angels are required to sign a casual employment contract and all work is offered on a customer demand basis. We cannot guarantee any amount of work at any time.
Can I choose my own hours?
Yes. The great thing about being a Pet Angel is that you can take on as much or as little work as you want at any time.
Can I choose where I work?
Yes. If you are accepted as a Pet Angel you will be able to select the suburbs you prefer to work in.
Can I choose which of the Pet Angel services I get involved with?
Yes. When you complete your application, just make sure you tick which services you want to offer our customers. Note that Pet Angels HQ will need to approve the services you apply for, which is part of the training and assessment process.
Do I need to have access to a computer?
Yes. All Pet Angels are required to manage their time and their assignments via our website.
Do I need experience with dogs?
Not necessarily but you must be confident with dogs. As part of the recruitment process you will complete a practical session with dogs of all sizes and you will be assessed by a dog training expert before you are approved to provide dog care services.
What will I get paid?
The rates of pay vary depending on the service, the length of time the service is provided and the number of dogs in your care. These will be discussed with you should you be successful in your application.

Website / Booking Questions

How can I book a Pet Angel if I don't have a credit card?
If you don't have a credit card, then please contact us and we will help you with your booking. Payment is due in advance of your service taking place, so we will need you to organise a payment via Internet Banking.
How do I select multiple dog walking or pet feeding dates that aren't in the same date range?
There are two ways that you can do this:

1. In the calendar area select the first date that you want the service to be delivered and then select the same date as the last date (or 'until' date) for that service; select your Angel; then click 'book me'. On the booking confirmation screen you will see a button called 'add another booking'. Click this and then select your next booking date and go through the same process again. OR

2. Select the first date that you require the service to be delivered and then select the last date - even though there are some dates in between that you don't require. Select your Angel and then click 'book me'. On the booking confirmation page you will see each individual booking date listed with a 'review' and 'remove' link beside it. Remove the dates you do not require and you will be left with the relevant ones only.

Tip: When you choose your Angel, click on the full profile button to have a look at their availability calendar (at the bottom of the profile page). This will help you to check that they are available on each individual date you require before you go into the booking process.

How do I select multiple services?
To select multiple services (for example 2 feeds on Sat and 1 feed on Sun) all you need to do is:

Pick the date/s you require for two feeds; choose your Angel; then click 'book me'. You will be taken to a booking confirmation page where you will see a button called 'add another booking'. Click this and then select 'one feed a day' and chose the dates you require one feed; select the same Angel and click 'book me'. You will then see the different services and dates listed on the booking confirmation page.

My booking timed out before I submitted it.
Your booking will time out if you have been away from your computer for awhile before finalising your booking. If this happens, please check on the right hand side of the screen for a 'Pending Bookings' link. Click on this to use it, or 'Cancel All' to start again. If these links don't appear, then you will have to start your search again.
